Keep your parents walking. At home. Independently.
One in three Malaysians over 65 falls every year — and once they do, the cycle of fear, weakness and decline accelerates. Our elderly rehab programme reverses it: rebuilding strength, balance, gait and confidence so they stay mobile, safe and independent in their own home.
How we help elderly patients
Most of our elderly patients are brought in by concerned adult children. Common reasons:
Our elderly rehab approach
Older bodies need a different approach: gentler progression, more education, family involvement, and a focus on what matters at home — getting out of a chair, walking to the bathroom, going to the market, holding grandchildren.
Whole-person assessment
Medical history, medications, home environment, fall risk, mobility, balance, strength and mental confidence.
Conservative, kind treatment
Gentle manual therapy, low-impact strengthening, balance retraining — never painful, never rushed.
Functional training
Practising the actual movements that matter: sit-to-stand, stair climbing, walking aids, getting on and off the bed.
Family & carer coaching
We coach the family on safe transfers, home modifications and daily exercises so progress continues at home.
Techniques tailored for older adults
We adapt every modality and exercise to be safe, effective and appropriate for older bodies:
- Balance & Vestibular Training — Static and dynamic balance work, BPPV manoeuvres if appropriate
- Gait Re-education — Walking pattern analysis, walking aid prescription if needed (cane, frame)
- Low-Impact Strengthening — Banded, body-weight and machine work to safely rebuild lost muscle
- Gentle Manual Therapy — Joint mobilisation for stiff knees, hips, shoulders, neck
- Therapeutic Ultrasound & TENS — Pain relief for arthritic joints without medication
- Home Safety Advice — Reduce fall risk in bathroom, bedroom, stairs — small changes, big effect
About elderly rehab treatment
Is your centre suitable for elderly patients?
Yes. We're on a single accessible floor, with a private treatment room and seating in the waiting area. Carers can stay throughout. We work at your parent's pace — no rushed sessions.
Can a family member or carer accompany the patient?
Absolutely encouraged. We actively want carers in the room so they learn the home exercises and safe transfer techniques.
My parent is bed-bound or in a wheelchair — can you help?
Yes. We treat patients with limited mobility and can advise on transfer techniques, prevention of contractures and bedside exercises. For severely bed-bound patients, WhatsApp us about possible home-visit arrangements.
Will a female physiotherapist be available?
Yes. Our lead physiotherapist, Raja Nazatul, is female. This is especially appreciated by elderly Muslim women and their families.
How quickly will we see improvement?
Most elderly patients notice better balance and confidence within 4–6 sessions. Strength gains take longer (8–12 weeks of consistent work), but they last and significantly reduce fall risk.
What languages do you speak?
Bahasa Malaysia and English. We're comfortable explaining everything carefully — many of our elderly patients prefer BM.
Don't wait for the second fall.
WhatsApp us about your parent or grandparent. We'll listen, recommend, and book an assessment with a female physiotherapist who treats seniors with the respect and patience they deserve.
